Top polishing Granite (http://tanbrown.org)

this guy has a greenish Granite (http://tanbrown.org) c/top w/ light redish minerals running through it. The things perfect except a small hole, ( smaller than a lady bug & as deep as a dime). It looks like it chipped-out. I want to polish it out using pads, however I'm afraid of making a pool out of his highly priced Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) top. Anybody ever ran into this sort of thing.
